August 16 - 17, 2009 - Eagle River, AK

We spent 4 nights at our nephew Ian's house and can't thank all of them enough for their hospitality. We arrived there at a very busy time as Jennifer, who is a 4th grade teacher, was busy getting her classroom ready for school to begin on Wednesday. Ian works for the Alaska Railroad and was out on a work train until late Saturday night. His days off were Sunday and Monday and it was great to be able to spend time with the family getting to know them.

From left to right: Summer, Jennifer, Ian, and Corey and their dog, Cozmo.

Cozmo was a very busy little dog. When he wasn't chasing balls that he persuaded someone to throw for him, he would stand in front of the fish tank jumping up and down waiting for something to happen.
This is the garden:

Ian has been very busy building a fort for Summer and Corey.

And here is one of the photos from outside their home. We were parked on the left side of this area.

We all went out to dinner at the Bear Tooth in Anchorage on Sunday evening. Jennifer had to work on Monday, so we spent the day with Ian and the girls out shopping. Ian claims not to be too good in the kitchen with more than one item to prepare, but we didn't go away hungry Monday night and we can attest to his fine cooking abilities.
Again....a BIG THANKS to Ian, Jennifer, Summer, and Corey for a great visit and getting to know more of the family! We love you all and hope to be back before too long.
