We spent 3 nights camped at the Deep Creek State Recreation campground in Ninilchik, AK. This old Russian Orthodox church sits on the hill above old town Ninilchik.
We drove out a few miles on the Oil Well Road and as we headed back to the RV got this photo of Mt Illiamna.
It was very entertaining to watch the rubber tired skidders used to load and unload the fishing boats into the bay. We were told that on a busy day they handle around 300 boats.
I failed to get their photo, but we went out to the home of Larry & Peggy, who are also members of Escapees RV Club. We had a great visit with them and they even sent us home with some halibut. Thanks again, Larry & Peggy! We hope to return to Alaska in the future.
