We left Hoquiam, WA on 9/27/12 and continued south. We drove through the town of Raymond, WA which has several unique metal sculptures along the highway.
We crossed the Columbia River on the Astoria Megler bridge. It looks pretty steep in this photo.
There was construction on the bridge for sandblasting and most likely preparing for a new coat of paint.
Here’s what the bridge looked like from the exit ramp.
We got set up at the campground and headed out on a drive to the south jetty.
This is what’s left of the wreck of the Peter Iredale.
