I know there’s a lot to catch up on and I’ll try to do that as time permits. But on to somewhat current time, we’re headed north to start our next adventure to Alaska.
We left our lot in Spring Branch, TX at the end of January and worked our way west and are currently headed to our homebase area in Spokane, WA to take care of things before we continue on north. One stopping place was Grants Pass, OR where we had Henderson’s Line-up do some work on the RV and we also bought 4 new RV tires. We had a break in the weather and a waiting day for the tires to arrive, so we drove north to Canyonville, OR to look into some of Ken’s family history. While there we found the grave of his great grandfather and great grandmother. He had copies of photos of the family farm in that area so we went exploring to try to find that. After driving around for a while, we sighted a place that looked about the right setting for the old farm and drove up to it. After making some inquiries, we ventured to the next driveway south where a longtime community member lived and may know some of the history of the area. He knocked on that door and when the gentleman answered, Ken explained who he was and that he thought his ancestors had owned property in this area. Ken told him the name of his great grandfather and the man had a big grin on his face and said that the granddaughter lived here. We were very pleased to meet Ken’s cousin, Laura LeBlanc Gray. She is a first cousin of Ken’s mother.
Here she is with her son’s Mike Faulkner on the left and David Faulkner on the right.
